What do you do when your dreams are shattered and you find that you have no potential? You give up. However, theres a fine line on giving up on giving up. The hero equivalent of Hajime No Ippo, Boku no Hero Academia is the story of a young boy named Midoriya Izuku, who was quirkless, judged to not be of any potential of becoming a hero. It all started with the world announcing the arrival of a baby glowing in white light. Since that day, superpowers and the rise of new heroes started becoming the norm and defined the upcoming generations. Now, the world has tons of heroes and an industry shaped up since their coming. In summary, heroism was the new profession of the generation. In a world where having superpowers were considered acceptable and the norm, Izuku found himself being the odd one out. Despite all these circumstances, Modoriya still journeyed on and encountered the one he admired called All-Might, the symbol of peace and justice. Since that day, his life never remained the same and he began his journey on becoming the worlds greatest hero.
Tokyo Ghoul is a story wherein a world is inhabited by ghouls. Ghouls are man-eating creatures that have the same appearance to humans, which is why they can blend into the human society. The only thing that a ghoul can eat is human flesh, human foods taste awful to them and is bad for their health if it is absorbed by their body. They can not be harmed by simple weapons such as knives, they can only be harmed by the weapons of the Ghoul Investigators, called Quinque. Kaneki Ken, is a simple human boy who loves to read novels. Im going to cut to the chase, Kaneki turned into a ghoul because a ghoul organ was transplanted into his body system. Making him a half-human half-ghoul.
As the name suggests it is about an attack or a war on gigantic humanoids called Titans by mere humans for their freedom.. pretty clich right? Well no, the plot thickens as we move further in the story-line . The story revolves around Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman who live in the outskirts of a heavily guarded town but have their town invaded by titans in which Eren looses his mother and sets his mind to destroying all the titans in the world , this story-line is then shared by many other characters in which the very existence of the titans and the people living inside the walls is questioned.
An anime about online game. A very interesting theme that definitely attracted a lot of viewers especially online game players, such as myself. SAO is the most memorable and enjoyable anime I watched this year. Yes it is not the best and yes it has a lot of obvious flaws and inconsistencies. But hey! It has a lot of good points as well.
Characters are something that makes an anime whole. It is something that makes FT one of the best. It has a vivid range of characters, whether it be Protagonist or Antagonist, both categories are great. Every character has their own stories and their own goal on which they march forward. There are characters with different personalities and good characteristics.
Bleach is an interesting and strange anime adaptation of the Japanese manga series of the same name by Tit Kubo. It's a rather complicated series, but basically it's about 15 year old Japanese high school student Ichigo Kurosaki and how he goes from being able to see/interact with ghosts to fighting evil spirits called Hollows and saving regular spirits from hollows and other bad guys/girls. The series truly begins when Ichigo has an unexpected visitor in the form of a female Soul Reaper (death god) named Rukia Kuchiki.
The Action/Fantasy genre is one of my personal favorites, not in the anime itself, but in the magical story and the amazing adventures that each and every one of our characters take. It's a genre which I think anyone can enjoy no matter if your a serious person or someone just completely childish. You will eventually fall in love with this anime because no matter who you are, who doesn't love seeing a young ninja trying to reach his dreams even though many challenges lie in his path along with him being a 9-tailed demon fox as well.
Shinichi Izumi is just a 17 year old guy, a normal high school student. Until one night, a thing, that seemed like a bug - a parasite - got inside him. It aimed for the brain but didn't make it, so instead took over his right hand. Now this specimen can completely change the form of the hand, and also make eyes and a mouth to communicate with. At first our MC character didn't know how to react, so he just tried to hide it and live with it. He also gave it a name: Migi. However, as "murders" increase and parasites were more frequent, and Migi's ability to perceive those of his same species, Shinichi can't help but to get involved with them. Along with his parasite ally they start fighting them for their own survival and the ones around them. Although, only Migi fights, regardless of whose decision was to engage or defend themselves instead of running, in the first place. What they didn't notice is that they got involved in something bigger than what they thought.
Death Note: Yagami Light finds himself a notebook, dropped by a Shinigami: the Death Note. If you write down the name of a person in this Death Note, hell die, no matter what. With this new Death Note, Light begins to create a perfect world, killing off all criminals. Then, a detective who goes by the name of L gets assigned to catch him. Let me first state that Death Note is unique amongst shounen-anime. There are nearly no fights, and nearly the entire anime consists out of people planning and plotting to outsmart each other. Through the course of the anime, Light makes optimal use of the Death Note, and he comes up with a number of really smart and careful plans. Because of this, the main good points of Death Note, especially in the beginning, are its surprises. Some plot twists are ingeniously incorporated in the storyline, and they make sure for maximum shock-value. This makes sure for a number of really intense episodes, even with the lack of fighting or other forms of physical action.
Haikyuu!! is a sports anime centered around the volleyball team of Karasuno High. Once champions, they are now called The Flightless Crows - but not anymore. With the new additions of the first years, most notably Hinata, who decided to become a volleyball player after seeing The Little Giant from Karasuno on T.V when he was young, and Kageyama, who has been playing volleyball seriously since middle school, the team is back on the rise. Even if you dont like volleyball or havent the slightest clue of how it works, like me, you can end up liking and enjoying this anime to the fullest. Its not just about volleyball - it is hilarious at times, suspenseful and action-packed at others, and shows the importance of teamwork. The last part sounds clich or cheesy, I know, but its true. You follow the characters as they go from hating each other and not getting along too well to developing strong tactics and a unique playing style - because they learned to work together. The two main characters, Hinata and Kageyama, started off as sworn enemies due to their past, albeit brief, meetings and conflicting personalities - then end up on the same team and become a near inseparable, unstoppable duo.
